It will be an 8-team single elimination, dual style team tournament. We will have our eight teams finalized by July 1st. Rosters/Lineups Rosters will consist of a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 grapplers. Anyone is allowed to represent your team. All competitors on the roster will be required to weigh in during the assigned weigh in period. By October 1st each team must submit their 6-12 man roster along with their first dual lineup. One competitor for each weight class. All competitors are eligible to compete up in weight, but cannot compete down in weight. For example, a lightweight may compete in any weight class except featherweight. Weight classes Featherweight – 153 Lightweight – 162 Welterweight – 174 Middleweight – 188 Lightweight Heavyweight – 205 Heavyweight – 245 Dice Roll At the start of every team dual a custom 6-sided die will be used to decide which weight class starts. Each weight class represents one side of the die. For example, if the light heavyweight side of the die is rolled, the light heavyweights will start the dual followed by heavyweights, featherweights, etc. In the event of a team tie, the dice will be rolled to then decide which weight class will compete in the tie breaker match. Rules All matches will be one 8 min. round, submission only. With the O.T. being the first controlled takedown to win. A submission win will earn your team 2 points, and an O.T. win will earn your team 1 point. No submission cash bonuses will be given out. Cash bonuses will be awarded for Submission of the Night, Grappler of the Night, and Match of the Night. All matches will be under the Sub-Version Pro rules. All submissions are legal. No two-handed trachea chokes. No slams. If grappler lifts opponents head off the mat above their knees for a 3 second count, both grapplers will be reset standing. Stalling will only be called with two standing opponents or with one seated and one standing. If a grappler is refusing to engage, then a warning will be issued, the second offense will result in a point deduction. If a grappler has a point deducted, then after regulation there will be no O.T. Resulting in 2 team points for the winning grappler. Entry Fee Each team will be required to pay a $300 entry fee. The tournament winner will receive a $1000 cash prize and a Sub-Version team trophy. Second-place will receive a $500 cash prize. Grapplers also have a chance to earn $100 cash bonuses for Match of the Night, Submission of the Night, and Grappler of the Night. 8 Team Format Each winning team will continue to move to the next round until the final two teams remain in the championship dual. Teams may use the same lineup for all duals or may substitute other roster members for each round. All matches will be used for our future Sub-Version ranking system and title matchups.
