Women training self-defense at Next Edge Academy in Sioux Falls

R.E.I.G.N. · Women's Self-Defense

R.E.I.G.N.

Resilience. Empowerment. Intuition. Grit. Nobility. A women's-only self-defense program built on real MMA — striking, grappling and clinch work you can actually use. No experience needed.

What to expect

Saturdays at 8:00am

One 60-minute class each week — about 50 minutes of work, then mindset discussion and cool down.

Warm up & movement

Mobility, pummeling drills, break falls, shrimping, hand fighting and grip breaking, plus coordination work.

Striking

15–20 minutes of boxing and kickboxing fundamentals — stance, footwork, punches, kicks and defense.

Grappling

15–20 minutes of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and clinch work: getting off the ground, breaking grips and creating distance.

Our mission

We exist to arm everyday women with the skills, strength, and confidence to defend themselves and those they love. Through real-world MMA and self-defense training, we help women own their power, and walk through life stronger, bolder, and unafraid.

Common questions

Is R.E.I.G.N. really free?
Yes — classes are free. You'll just need your own gear: MMA gloves, shin guards, a mouth guard and workout clothes.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. Every technique is taught from the ground up, and the room is women-only so it's a safe place to learn.
Is this the same as your MMA class?
It runs on our MMA schedule, but the class itself is self-defense focused — real-world scenarios taught through true martial arts technique.
What should I bring my first day?
Comfortable athletic clothes and water. Talk to a coach about gear before you start sparring drills.
